Open New Year's Day

This is just another quick update to let you all know that there are still heaps of cherries waiting to be picked and that we are open New Year's Day.  Choice varieties we reccomend at the moment are Van, Lapin and Stella, with Sweetheart ripening over the next 3-4 days.

We are still open daily from 8.30 am - 5 pm and we ask afternoon pickers to arrive no later than 4 pm as gates are locked at 5 pm.

Now trading weekdays

There is an abundance of fruit, therefore we are now open daily 9 am - 4 pm (no appointments necessary).  Our new hours will extend right through to New Years day (inclusive) but please note we are CLOSED CHRISTMAS DAY.

If you're new to the orchard, look for the CHERON CHERRIES sign at the entrance of our driveway.  There are a few others signs out on Coldstore Road that may lead you astray.

Below: Charlie and his dad (top) and little Sean (bottom) had a great time last weekend and very kindly agreed to share their photos.  Anyone have any tips on gently removing cherry stains from skin? We bet every parent would love to know!

Opening hours remain the same at the moment (Sat/Sun, 9am-4pm, weekdays by appointment) but for those planning ahead, we anticipate weekday trading (without appointment) to commence on Monday 17 December.

Season update

The Merchant & Chelan varieties are now fully ripe.  Thank you to all our guests so far!

Just a gentle reminder to call ahead if you're planning a weekday visit.  If the weather forecast is above 35 degrees, time your visit for the cooler, early hours of the day and don't forget your drinks, hats and sunblock.

Chelan are a firm, heart-shaped fruit with a sweet rich flavour.  The skin and flesh are mahogany in colour.
